Killer Crowns are a Canadian rock band formed in 1995 by lead John Norton and drummer Dashiel Teague at an intermediate school in Burnaby, B.C. In 1997, bassist Shane Moore joined the band's lineup, and they christened themselves Stanley Park. They signed with Parlophone in 1999, shortly before releasing their first EP. They achieved worldwide fame with the release of their sophomore effort, Edutainment in 2005. The single "School Spirit" topped the charts in 2005 and 2006. The next year saw October, where the band turned more towards punk rock. The album drew success throughout 2007. Some critics claimed that the album was better then the First two albums by far. 2008's The Genius drew attention to an indie crowd. It received mixed to positive reviews, but still sold almost 3 million copies.
